Today is National Almond Buttercrunch Day
Whoa! Today — June 29 — is National Almond Buttercrunch Day! Who knew? According to The Nibble, almond buttercrunch (also known as almond toffee) is an all-American confection—and a popular one at that. It is we Yanks who improved upon the British sweet by coating it with a finesse of chocolate and a dusting of finely-chopped almonds. If you’re Road Tripping in Colorado, stop in at Enstrom’s — there are stores in Aspen, Denver, Grand Junction and Lakewood — and sample what’s touted as the best in the country (well, they say they sell 500,000 pounds of it a year…).
