Tour Stone Brewing Company in Escondido
Go behind the scenes at Stone Brewing Company in Escondido, California, and then sample several microbrews from one of the world’s top craft breweries. Visitors learn about Stone’s philosophy, the brewing process and the industry on a guided look at the inner workings of the new 55,000 square foot brewery. Free tours last approximately 45 minutes and are followed by a guided tasting.
They’re offered Monday through Thursday at 2 and 6 p.m.; Friday at 2, 4 and 6 p.m.; Saturday at noon, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 p.m., and Sunday: 2, 3, and 4 p.m. Additional tour times are scheduled for the Fourth of July weekend.
Of course, there’s a catch. Aside from being 21 or older, they take only 25 people on each tour — first come, first served. The company points out that weekends are so busy that if you want a slot, it’s best to show up, say, two hours in advance to pick up a tour pass at the Stone Company Store. There’s no cost, but you gotta have a ticket — and you gotta pick it up in person.
The brewery is located at 1999 Citracado Parkway in Escondido, but the street is too new to be on maps and there’s no sign on the brewery — it’s the only building on the west side of the street.
