Fields On The Saco
Road Trip Foodies wandering the northern reaches of New England as the summer travel season winds down have an opportunity to eat local on August 29, 2009, at the Second Annual “Fields on the Saco”. Presented by Weston’s Farm, Sherman Farm, Green Thumb Farms and Nerefield Farm (in conjunction with the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce) this four-course meal is served under tents set right on the fields of Weston’s Farms that span the Maine-New Hampshire border. The menu, accompanied by wines and Maine Cold River Vodka, will be presented by Chef Bryant Alden of the Chef’s Market in North Conway, Executive Chef Brad Southwick of the White Mountain Hotel and Resort, Chef Jonathan Spak, co-owner of the Oxford House Inn, and Chef Jim Harrison of the Flatbread Company. Tickets to the event are $125 per person. Tickets are limited to the first 100 people, and must be reserved in advance. The rain location will be the historic Agriculture Barn used at the Fryeburg Fair, where the oldest agricultural fair in the United States is held each fall.
