If You Like Piña Coladas…
Coming up quickly on the summertime calendar is National Piña Colada Day — July 10. This classic cocktail made with rum has been a warm weather staple for decades — long before Rupert Holmes’ song (officially titled “Escape”) was imprinted into our brains. Aside from ice, it’s only got three ingredients: 2 parts rum, 2 parts pineapple juice and one part whole milk. It would be logical that the best are made in the Caribbean (birthplace of rum), but it’s a drink that’s, shall we say, traveled the world. Two bar suggestions for Foodies on Road Trips include the Soggy Dollar on the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, and the Sling Restaurant Lounge in Brisbane, Australia.
