What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving, Road Trips Foodies, than by taking a winery tour of Oregon’s Willamette Valley! On November 27, 28 and 29, 2009, more than 100 wineries will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Wine Country Thanksgiving includes some vintners that aren’t open any other time of the year.
Festivities include tasting of new releases and older vintages, barrel tastings, specialty foods and sales of limited quantity wines. Some wineries have live music and some charge a tasting fee. But, best of all, the winemakers and owners will personally greet their guests. The price of admission ranges from $5 to $20, depending on the winery. It’s sponsored by Willamette Wines.
