Stone Crab Seafood & Wine Festival
OK, Road Trips Foodies: this one’s a bit pricey (but — what the heck — both stone crab and wine tend toward the pricey, eh?). The 29th Stone Crab Seafood & Wine Festival will be held November 13 and 14, 2009, at The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort, 1620 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, Florida. There’ll be culinary demonstrations ($90/day), a Tasting on the Beach ($165) and a Chef’s Collaboration Gala ($200).
Five chefs will be participating: Michelle Bernstein of Mischy’s and Sra. Martinez Restaurants in Miami, Florida; Floyd Cardoz of Tabla, New York City; Dena Marino of D19, Aspen, Colorado; Kevin Rathbun of Rathbun’s, Atlanta, Georgia, and Rocco Whalen of Fahrenheit, Cleveland, Ohio. Participating vintners are Tim Snider, Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard, Los Olivos, California; Paula Kornel, Oakville Ranch Vineyards , Napa Valley, California, and Rob Sweeney, Vine Cliff Winery , Napa Valley, California.
Go here to purchase tickets. There’s also a package deal at the resort — stay there for the weekend and the festival is at your feet.
