michigan_traverse_plevaRoad Trips Foodies who want to meet and chat with the butchers and bakers, fishermen and brewers, cheesemakers and candymakers whose creations have helped to turn Traverse City, Michigan, into a “foodie’s paradise have several ways do do it: on your own serendipitously, following a self-guided foodie tour or joining a guided tour. The town’s Visitors Center (corner of Union Street and Grandview Parkway on the edge of downtown) has ideas, maps — and “Tasty Traverse”, a brochure with a map and instructions for a self-guided foodie tour. If you’d rather take a guided tour, start here: Culinary Escapes. For more on visiting the region, go online.
