Vermont Cheesemakers Festival
The Vermont Cheesemakers Festival takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 25, 2010, Coach Barn, 1611 Harbor Road, Shelburne — just south of Burlington, Vermont. There’ll be more than 100 types of cheese to sample from 40 different cheesemakers, a variety of locally produced wines and beers, and several other artisan foods, including maple syrup, honey, chocolates, baked goods, and more. (Vermont has the highest number of cheesemakers per capita. Who knew?)
The Festival will also feature three tasting seminars, where visitors will learn how to pair cheeses with wine, beer, and other foods. If you’re planning to be there, get tickets in advance (they do sell out). The festival is $30/person, and seminars are $45/person.
It’s all sponsored by the Vermont Institute for Artisan Cheese, the Vermont Butter & Cheese Company, and the Vermont Cheese Council.
