Dig-IN
More than 30 Indiana chefs will gather at Celebration Plaza, 801 West Washington Street — in White River State Park, downtown Indianapolis, to prepare meals using ingredients from local growers during Dig-IN: a Taste of Indiana.
The food festival celebrating the Hoosier state’s agriculture and culinary traditions takes place noon to 5 p.m. August 28, 2011.
Presentations on gardening, local sourcing and healthful eating round out the food festival. Visitors are treated to two-ounce tastes of unique dishes made with farm-fresh Indiana produce and proteins.
Even the beverages used to wash down the tastes will have an Indiana flavor: The Indiana Wine Grape Council and Brewers of Indiana Guild will provide wine and beer tastings, and local soft drinks and water will be served as well. Local music, urban gardening exhibits, educational discussion panels, local expert Q&A sessions will round out the day. Tickets are $30 at the door.
