Spot Prawn Festivals
The sixth annual Spot Prawn Festival, presented by the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia, Canada, will be held from 11 a.m. ’til 3 p.m. May 5, 2012, at False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf, Vancouver.
A celebration of one of the region’s seafoods, the festival is a chance to see some of Vancouver’s culinary talent in action with cooking demonstrations and tastings with local wines and live entertainment.
The festival kicks off the BC spot prawn season, which continues on for 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to buy live, locally sourced, and sustainable prawns direct off the dock. Get your catch daily from 1 p.m. onwards at the False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf (just west of Granville Island).
There’s another Canadian Spot Prawn Festival the following weekend at Cowichan Bay Seafood, 1751 Cowichan Bay Road, Cowichan Bay, BC. This fest is May 12 and 12, 2012.
