Taste of the South
The second annual “Taste of the South” is set for January 19, 2013, in Lemaire, the Jefferson Hotel, 101 West Franklin Street, Richmond, Virginia (map).
Lemaire executive chef, Walter Bundy, will share his kitchen with chefs Sean Brock of McCrady’s and Husk (Charleston, South Carolina; Chris Hastings of Hot and Hot Fish Club (Birmingham, Alabama) and Sam McGann of The Blue Point (Duck, North Carolina). Proceeds from the dinner benefit the James Beard Foundation.
The evening will begin with an hors d’oeuvre reception at 6:30 p.m. A five-course dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m. and showcase southern cuisine as prepared by the featured chefs. Dessert will be prepared by Lemaire pastry chef Sara Ayyash. The cost of the dinner with wine pairings is $150 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity).
The James Beard Foundation was founded in 1986 to celebrate, nurture and preserve America’s diverse culinary heritage and future.
