indiana_martinsville_honeyIt may be maple syrup season, but maybe you’re a Road Trips Foodie who prefers honey. If you’re planning to travel across Indiana on Interstate 70, consider dropping off for a tour of Hunters Honey Farm, 6501 West Honey Lane, Martinsville, Indiana.

Tours are available year ’round, but you do need to schedule your visit ahead of time.

The farm has put some honey recipes online.

It’s not easy to find Hunters Honey Farm — it’s in the Hoosier hinterlands. Here are the driving directions from I-70:
Take State Road 39 south to State Road 42 west. Continue west on State Road 42 and then turn south (left) onto Hall Road and proceed South to the stop sign at Yale Road. Turn right and continue to the stop sign at Herbemont Road. Turn left and continue South on Herbemont Road. You will go through a stop sign (after stopping, of course) at State Road 142 and continue to a yield sign at Hancock Ridge Road. Turn left onto Hancock Ridge, look for the Christmas trees and turn right onto West Honey Lane.
