Hood Canal ShrimpFest

Submitted by on May 19, 2015 – 8:48 amNo Comment

washington_brinnon_shrimpfestThe 22nd annual Hood Canal ShrimpFest is set for May 23 and 24, 2015.

The Memorial Day Weekend event takes place at Yelvik General Store Field, 303375 Hwy 101, Brinnon, Washington (three miles north of downtown Brinnon: between Yelvik General Store and Cove RV Park & Country Store).

Road Trips Foodies take note: the Official Shrimpfest booth will again be selling packages of the nearly-impossible-to-obtain Hood Canal Spot Shrimp. Supplies are limited, so it’s suggested you get there early. The Hood Canal’s extremely short (16 hour) sport shrimping season makes this a highly sought after commodity.

The popular Belt Sander races will return this year and will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. Yeah, you need to bring along your own (preferably decorated) belt sander to try your luck at beating the competition.

A full schedule of live music entertainment includes performances by Greg Parke, Eric Miller, The Old Sidekicks, Soul Siren and Locust Street Taxi,

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The gate fee is $4/day or $6 for a two-day pass.

Brinnon’s Hood Canal ShrimpFest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community festival benefitting community projects.
