cezanne-paul_astonishing-applies_METYum! Two taste treats will be explored during “Cooking with Apples and Honey” at the Mill City Museum, 704 South Second Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Saturday (October 10, 2015), cookbook authors Joan Donatelle and Sue Doeden will conduct two Baking Lab cooking demonstrations at 12:30 and 2 p.m.

In Astonishing Apples (MNHS Press), Donatelle is your guide to apple abundance, bringing a fondness for the fruit that goes beyond the standard slices-and-brie or apple crisp. In Homemade with Honey (MNHS Press), Doeden applies this ambrosial ingredient to a wide variety of dishes.

The books are the latest publications in the Northern Plate series from the Minnesota Historical Society Press, celebrating the bounty of the Upper Midwest by focusing on a single ingredient and exploring its historical uses as well as culinary applications across a range of dishes. After each demonstration, books will be available for purchase, and the authors will be available to sign copies of the books.
