Gourmet Package Deal on Riviera Maya

Submitted by Susan on January 31, 2010 – 5:35 pmOne Comment

mexico_maromaRoad Trips Foodies contemplating the Riviera Maya in Mexico will want to check out the latest culinary package at the Maroma Resort & Spa by Orient-Express. There’s a new Executive Chef — Richard Silvester — and to celebrate his arrival they’ve bundled meals at two of the hotel’s (including wine) with (surprise!) a snorkeling excursion! Look for Chef Silvester’s signature dishes: Mango gazpacho with a Poached Lemon Grass Sea Scallop, Red Sea Bream “Papillotte” with Hoja Santa and Sour Orange Achiote, and a Chocolate Mole with Rompope and Pilonsillo Caramel. At Maroma, Chef Silvester is focusing on sourcing organic and local ingredients plus adding a Mexican steakhouse concept (think prime cuts from Mexico, Argentina, Japan and the United States). Chef Silvester has worked in Vienna, Florence, Montego Bay and Bratislava.
