Hoosier Maple Syrup Festival
The 24th annual Maple Syrup Festival takes place on two weekends: February 28 and March 1, 2015, plus March 7 and 8, 2015, at LM Sugarbush, 321 North Garrison Hollow Road, Salem, Indiana.
Hours all four days are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sugarbush tours begin every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A self-guided tour of the sugarhouse with operating evaporator is available all day.
There will be contrasting Native American and pioneer syrup-making demonstrations between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day as well as traditional fiddle, gospel and dulcimer music.
Also on tap: tractor-drawn wagon rides, a mini-museum of maple-related antiques, an outdoor craft vendor area plus demos of crosscut sawing, knife sharpening, tomahawk throwing and candle making.
